Frequently asked questions.

What does “static website” mean?

MakeSite builds your pages when you publish, so visitors can load them directly. This keeps hosting simple and avoids a separate CMS or plugins. You can update your content in MakeSite whenever you need to.

Can I update my website later?

Yes. Edit your content, check the preview and publish the update. Your current website stays online while you work and until the update is published successfully.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Keep your existing domain or buy one from a domain provider. MakeSite shows the DNS records to add in your provider’s settings. You’ll need access to those settings; registration and renewal stay with your provider.

Are hosting and HTTPS included?

Yes. Hosting and global delivery are included. MakeSite sets up HTTPS once your domain is connected and verified, so you don’t need to arrange hosting or certificates separately.

What does MakeSite cost?

MakeSite costs €6 per month, including VAT, per published website. Hosting and HTTPS are included. You need a paid plan to publish and use a custom domain; domain registration is separate. You’ll see the billing terms before confirming your subscription.

Can I add a shop or a booking system?

MakeSite is for websites that present your business, services and contact details. It doesn’t include a shopping cart, booking calendar or customer accounts. You can link to a service you already use for those tasks.

Why do I sign up through DutchBSD Workspaces?

MakeSite is part of DutchBSD Workspaces. One account gives you access to the editor and the tools for managing your sites.
