MakeSite helps you put your business online without writing code. Choose a template, add your text and photos, then preview your website before publishing. Hosting and HTTPS are included.
Build your website in five steps
- Choose a design. Sign up through DutchBSD Workspaces, open MakeSite and pick a template that fits your business.
- Make it yours. Add your services, business details and photos using the browser editor.
- Try the preview. Check your pages, navigation and contact details on a phone and a larger screen.
- Choose your plan and address. Publishing costs €6 per month, including VAT, per website. Use a MakeSite address or connect your own domain.
- Publish. Put the reviewed version online. MakeSite handles hosting and HTTPS.
To update your website, edit, preview and publish again. Your current site stays online while you work and until the update is published successfully.
What static publishing means for you
MakeSite builds your pages when you publish. Visitors load those ready-made pages directly, which keeps hosting simple and avoids a separate CMS or plugins to maintain.
“Static” doesn’t mean your content is fixed. You can update it whenever you need to, using the same editor.
Find a template that fits
MakeSite works well for service descriptions, professional profiles, opening hours, community information and contact details. Browse the template previews to see the available pages and sections before choosing.
You can change the supplied text, images and supported sections. The template sets the layout; the editor doesn’t offer unrestricted layout changes or custom application development.
For a shop, booking calendar or customer accounts, use a separate service and link to it from your website. MakeSite doesn’t include those systems. The MakeSite and Wix comparison explains the difference in scope.
Hosting, domains and price
MakeSite costs €6 per month, including VAT, per published website. Hosting, HTTPS and global delivery are included. You need a paid plan to publish and use a custom domain.
Domain registration and renewal are separate. Keep your domain with its current provider, or buy one from a provider you choose. You’ll need access to its DNS settings to add the records MakeSite shows. Domain verification and HTTPS setup can take time.
Help visitors find what they need
Write clear page titles, explain your services and use descriptive links. Choose photos that help visitors understand your business, and check the published site after making changes.
